Spitfire (3-piece)
The Spitfire is the latest 3 piece takedown longbow addition to the A&H line. Featuring the patented ACS limb design, the 12” riser longbow is designed to accommodate longer draw lengths with a shorter overall length of 56”-64”. To cover this range of limb lengths, two different risers are used; the 56”-60” is a 12 degree limb pad angle and 60”-64” is a 5 degree limb pad angle. The limbs are made on different molds and the limb pin spacing is intentionally different so that the limbs cannot be interchanged between risers with the two different limb pad angles.
Limbs can be exchanged between risers with the same limb pad angles and new limbs can be ordered and fitted without returning the riser to have the limbs fitted to the riser. Limbs are constructed with clear glass on the back and belly and 2 layers of uni-directional carbon and bamboo limb cores. Limb veneers are available in a wide variety of species and can be footed (spliced) with a contrasting wood species. Stock limbs are tillered for 3 under but can be changed to split finger tiller. Custom orders can of course be selected for either tiller.
Risers are constructed using black G10 for accent stripes and typically 2 contrasting woods, though a single species of wood can certainly be used. Wood choices are grouped into different cost-tiered groups. Upgraded woods from multiple tiers can be selected. There will only be a single upcharge incurred for both woods, though the cost will be calculated from the higher tier group.
A unique attachment system using a ¼” dowel pin and the raised brass threaded insert serve to keep the limbs in perfect alignment.
A number of different grip profiles are available for both risers. 360 rotational videos show the characteristics of the different options.
